Community privacy notice
Last updated: 25 October 2026
Operated by ntnd.ai.
This notice covers the ntnd community forum at community.ntnd.ai, and feedback you send from ntndOS with Send feedback, which is delivered to that forum. The website signup and the app have separate privacy information.
In brief
You sign in to the forum with your ntnd account. You choose a username; a display name is optional. Your email address is never shown to other members.
Posts in public categories can be read by anyone and may appear in search engines. Feedback sent from ntndOS is different: it goes into a private category that only you and the ntnd team can see, and screenshots in it are served through private links that expire.
Analytics is optional: Google Analytics runs only if you accept its cookies. The forum uses no advertising cookies. We keep your posts until you or a moderator delete them, and deleted information may remain in restricted backups for about a week. We do not sell your information. The details are below.
What we collect and why
When you first sign in, the forum receives your email address and an account identifier from your ntnd account. You choose a username, and you can add a display name, picture and profile details if you want to. We never fill in your name from your email.
When you take part, the forum stores what you post, upload, like, bookmark and message, along with the categories you follow and your notification settings. It also keeps reading progress, such as which topics you have read, so it can show you what is new.
When you send feedback from ntndOS, the forum receives your note, any screenshot you choose to attach, and the app details shown in the form before you send. The ntnd team uses your ntnd account to match a report to your alpha access, so we can follow up and ask you to check a fix.
We also keep technical records, including your IP address and browser information, to keep you signed in, prevent abuse and resolve problems. Please do not post passwords, API keys or confidential or sensitive information, in public or in feedback.
If you allow optional analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the forum, such as which pages are visited and what people search for. Google Analytics receives information like page addresses and titles, your browser and device type, and your approximate location based on your network address, along with an analytics identifier. We don't send the content of your posts or messages to Analytics.
Who can see what
- Public categories: anyone, including visitors who are not signed in and search engines.
- Feedback from ntndOS: only you and the ntnd team. Other members cannot find it in lists, search or by its link.
- Your profile: others can see your username, display name, picture and any profile details you add. Your email address is never shown.
- Staff areas: some categories are open only to the ntnd team.
Emails and your choices
The forum emails you about replies, mentions and private messages, and about categories you choose to follow. You can change which emails you receive in your forum preferences, and every forum email includes an unsubscribe link. Signing in to the forum does not subscribe you to ntnd product updates; those are covered by the signup notice.
Our legal basis
We process your account, posts and feedback to provide the forum you joined and to act on the feedback you send. We rely on legitimate interests to keep the forum safe, prevent misuse and improve ntndOS based on your feedback. You can object to this processing. Where processing is required by law, we rely on that legal obligation.
Optional analytics relies on your consent. Declining it doesn't affect your use of the forum.
Who we share information with
Information is available to the ntnd team running the forum and to service providers that support hosting and storage, sign-in and email delivery. They receive the information needed for those services. The forum and its uploads are hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt). We may also disclose information where legally required.
We do not sell your information or share it for other organisations' marketing. Posts in public categories are public, so others may read or copy them.
If you allow analytics, Google LLC processes the analytics information for us. We don't enable Google advertising signals or ad-personalisation features.
Some companies that help us run this handle information outside the European Economic Area. Where EU law requires it, we only share information with them when the EU has approved their country's data protection, or under the EU's standard data protection contract. You can ask for a copy through the contact form under Your rights.
How long we keep it
- Your account and profile: kept until you ask us to delete your account.
- Posts and messages: kept until you or a moderator delete them. A post you delete is withdrawn at once and removed after 24 hours.
- Feedback from ntndOS: kept while it helps us fix the issue and follow up with you, or deleted sooner when you ask.
- Uploaded images and files: removed within 30 days after the post that used them is deleted.
- Optional analytics: Google Analytics cookies expire 90 days after your first visit with consent, and returning doesn't extend that. We set Google Analytics data retention to 2 months.
Deleted information may remain in restricted backups for about a week before those copies expire.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, restrict its use, object to processing, or receive a portable copy where applicable. Use our contact form; we may need to verify that the request is yours. Where GDPR applies, we respond within one month and explain any permitted extension.
If you delete your account, we remove your profile, your personal details and your posts, including topics you started. Where someone quoted you, the quote shows as deleted. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it, and keep only a short record of your request until our service providers have deleted their copies; then we delete that record too.
You can complain to a competent data-protection authority, including the authority where you live or work in the EEA, without contacting us first.
Cookies
The forum sets the cookies it needs to keep you signed in and secure. Google Analytics loads and sets its cookies only after you select Accept analytics cookies. You can change your choice using Cookies in the forum's footer. The forum uses no advertising scripts.
